Those kinds of days always seem to make summer feel like it’s ages away – warm breezes, cold drinks, and the smell of the grill cooking up something delicious. Grilling in the cold, unforgiving air of winter takes a dedicated (not to mention hungry) individual. However, grilling during the winter months doesn’t have to be a foreign concept. Most foods will require a few additional minutes of cooking time as well – this is where a meat thermometer can come in handy. It’s vital to remember to leave the lid down as much as possible.
Heat will always escape from the grill when the top is open, regardless of the weather, but when dealing with chilling temperatures, the effect is most definitely heightened. When it comes down to it, grilling in the winter is not a complicated task, even for beginner grillers. All that is required is some extra preparation and attention.
