Illinois has a very diverse economic base, and is a major transportation hub – especially thanks to O’Hare International Airport. Chicago O’Hare International Airport (or simply, O’Hare) is the busiest airport in the world by number of takeoffs and landings.

PEORIA
Peoria, Illinois, established in 1691, is the largest city on the Illinois River and the oldest European settlement in Illinois. Because of its location, demographics, and patriotic reputation, Peoria has become a well-known test market to gauge popularity of products, services, and ideas for nationwide distribution. In the past 80 years, Peoria has garnered the “All-American City” award four times.
BLOOMINGTON
Bloomington, Illinois is located in one of the most productive agricultural areas in the nation, but the economy remains diverse and well-balanced. The City of Bloomington is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in Illinois with and estimated 20.25% increase in population between 1986 and 1995. New construction continues to enhance residential, industrial and commercial growth.
SPRINGFIELD
Springfield is the capital of Illinois, and is the sixth most populated city in the state. Present-day Springfield was first settled by European Americans in the late 1810s, around the time Illinois became a state. The most famous past resident is Abraham Lincoln, who lived in Springfield from 1837 until 1861, when he went to the White House as President.
CHAMPAIGN
Champaign is located 135 miles south of Chicago, and is the tenth-most populated city in Illinois. Champaign was founded in 1855, when the Illinois Central Railroad laid its rail track two miles west of downtown Urbana. Originally called “West Urbana”, it was renamed Champaign when it acquired a city charter in 1860. In 2013, Champaign was rated fifth best place in the United States for a healthy work-life balance.
